L.A. based artist, CARR recently released a new song titled “Spit”! This is her first single since being signed to Pete Wentz (Fall Out Boy) and Spencer Smith (Panic! At The Disco)’s DCD2 Records. In this Q&A, CARR talked about the signing, her single, and more!

Congratulations on your newest single, “Spit”! “Spit” is the first single released via DCD2 Records, which is the label of Pete Wentz (Fall Out Boy) and Spencer Smith (Panic! At The Disco). How did the signing come about? What have you learned since being signed to the label?
Thank you! Pete had heard my first EP and liked it, so we connected and it just kind of worked out. I think they really get me because they’re artists so they see exactly what I’m doing and where I’m trying to go. I think I’ve learned how important it is to surround yourself with a great team who supports the music and my vision.

How was the making and creative process of “Spit” different from your previously released material?
It wasn’t too different! It’s still kind of the same vibes, maybe a little more crazy lyrics and it was the first song with live drums which was cool and fun to add.

Who has been your favorite artist or band to see live?
The Wrecks, they put on a really good and fun live show, it was great!

What's the best piece of advice another musician ever gave you?
To make music you love and not music you think will do well.

We all have our days where it may not be going as well as we’d like. People deal with their worst days in different ways. What helps you get through the bad days? How do you stay positive?
Taking a shower and smoke some weed is what I do.. it always helps me when I’m spiraling haha. Or just getting outside and taking a walk.
