“Fight like a title holder, stand like a champion, live like a warrior, and never let 'em break you down.” -The Interrupters (April 14, 2019 at The Observatory in Santa Ana, California)

Keeping it posi one song at a time because music really is everything, right?

“Keep It Posi” is not only a statement, but it can also be a lifestyle.

Hello. My name is Jazmin and I started this website to talk about my favorite bands and artists. I want to help reiterate that music can be everything and that music is the answer and that music will always be there for you. Whether it’s forgetting about life’s problems for a few hours by going to a show or hearing a song that reminds you that you’re not alone, everyone is finding a way to stay positive.

Using this as an outlet has given me a reason to stay focused on the one thing I care about. I hope that people that visit this site discover a band on here and if they do, then the job has been done. And if you’re in a band and wanna chat, I would love to hear from you! You can hit me up HERE :).

Please forgive me if I don’t reply right away. I run this website during my free time and as time goes by, more inquiries are hitting the inbox. Please know that I do try to read everything.

It’s okay if you have a bad day. We all have them. Music will always be there to help you through it. See you in the pit! :)

UPDATE AS OF JUNE 29, 2023:
When I started keepitposi.com over four years ago, I just did it because I wanted to document live coverage of local gigs. Over time, it became more than that. Covid-19 came into the picture and eventually affected live music. Three years ago, The Keep It Posi Podcast was launched because of two reasons: 1) it was something I had been wanting to do and 2) the uncertainty of when shows would resume was truly up in the air. Running the website and podcast during this time period has done a lot for me. In 2022 in particular, it felt a lot like a full time job. Through this experience, I learned a lot about myself, I got to know friends on a deeper level and make new ones along the way, I grew in a professional manner (maybe haha), and I saw what ALL OF US are capable of doing. Yes, maybe I ran the site and did the podcast all by myself, but it was YOU who made it happen. I’ve spent the last few weeks taking a look at who I covered for the website and who I spoke with for the podcast. If you were a part of it, know that you’re really talented. I never cared about making money through this. I just cared about talking about music I care about. I also hope you learned about a band or artist along the way.

While I tried to end the year with episode 110 of the podcast and eventually jump back in with the website, I believe this is where I ought to end this creative chapter. I aspire to one day bring it back if life takes that turn. I absolutely am not giving up talking about bands I care about. I’m just shifting some of my free time to other things I enjoy doing. I’ll still shoot gigs for The Alternative and The Bad Copy (maybe I’ll photograph your gig!). Huge thanks to Henderson and Kendra for allowing me to be part of their teams!! I cannot thank them enough. I’ll say that if you really wanna do something, find a way to do it and see where things go! You never know where you’ll end up. Sometimes your hobby may lead to other gig/job opportunities, which is kinda my case at the moment!

Thank you all for being a part of the journey. To the publicists and managers: thank you for introducing me to some bangers, for giving me the opportunity to speak with or photograph some of my all time favorite bands/creatives, and for putting up with my delayed responses. To the bands: thank you for sharing your art, so keep shredding! Collectively to everyone: I know times are hard with how some stuff in the music industry is going, but know that someone believes in you!!

The website and podcast will stay as is should you want to revisit for old times sake or what has always been the goal, to learn about a band or creative! Whether you stopped by the website once or listened to the podcast five times, THANK YOU!

Lastly, like I say at the end of each episode of the podcast: Stay posi always. And remember, life is like a mosh pit: if you see someone fall, you gotta help that person get back up.

See you in the pit homies!
